Do you believe in Karma?

A couple months ago we noticed that we were a month ahead on our mortgage. It seemed strange, but we figured we must have paid it when we refinanced and we didn't need too. Last month Grant looked back at our history to see where it could have happened. He noticed a deposit on our mortgage two months ago for over $9,000!! We could not believe it! We called wells Fargo to let the know about the mistake but the man on the other end told us that it was a legit deposit and not to worry about it. Not worry about it? Are you crazy? Of course we are going to worry about a $9000 deposit on our mortgage. I insisted Grant call and talk to someone else and figure out the mistake or where it came from. Again the second person told us that it was no mistake and this someone deposited it in our account. After some persistence, they agreed to file an investigation.  Seems silly that we were fighting so hard to make it a mistake, you would think we would just be grateful for the blessing, but it seemed to good to be true. The only conclusion we could come up with to make it real was the fact that it was deposited the same week that Grant was called into our ward bishopric. Many people knew that we were considering moving last year because our house was so small.  Maybe some kind ward member felt bad that fact that we are now in our small home for 5 more years and was trying to help us pay off our mortgage quicker. After about 5 days of anticipation and fingers crossed, we finally called wells fargo again to see if anything had been figured out...........
They told us that the deposit really had been a mistake :( It was meant for another account but was deposited into our by mistake. I was bummed out! I thought that maybe this was good karma coming our way. On the positive side, at least the people who really did make the deposit, finally got their money back :) I find it funny that they never noticed $9000 missing from their mortgage. In the end, it did make for a good story. Maybe we will be blessed for doing the right thing.
