Weekend in Island Park

So we had the funnest weekend ever! Our friends Oliver and Keisha Thuernagle invited us and the Kevin and Kali Hathaway family to their cabin in Island Park. There was 15 kids in total and then the 6 adults. The kids wasted no time once they got their. The girls were planning their sleeping arrangements, (they had a huge loft with a bunch of twin beds. Girls on one side, boys on the other) and the boys hit the Foosball table. We basically ate junk food non stop all weekend! Someone brought a box of airheads from Sams club and the kids had the  entire box gone in 24 hours!!  We finally got all the kids in bed by midnight, and it was time for the card games to begin!! Kevin Hathaway, (who is our stake president) apparently is very competitive. He does not like to loose so it made it all the more fun when Grant and I totally killed the first game!! For years I have refused to play the games Settlers of Catan. It is a personal pride issue :) But this weekend I put my pride aside and decided to give it a shot. I actually really enjoyed it,and I look forward to playing again now that I understand the rules. We decided to turn in around 2am. Funny thing was that all our youngest kids decided not to sleep at all that night and we all woke up completely exhausted the next morning!!! But homemade huckleberry pancakes cured us of our sleep deprivation. After breakfast we broke out the snow clothes and went outside. The men took turns pulling kids on the snowmobile. Carter kept begging Grant to let him drive the sled alone, but luckily for the safety of everyone their, Grant said no :) The rest of the day was filled with more games, more junk food, visiting, and movies. The kids never once complained of being bored, or fights, they were in heaven just as much as all the adults were. It was a great break from our busy stressful lives. Clean up times came to soon and it was sad to all say goodbye and go back to our normal lives. We had so much fun though, and hope to stay on the Thuernagles good list so we can do this again sometime soon!
