Ward Campout

I was in charge of our ward campout again this year. We held it at Green Canyon again, which is one of my favorite places! It was really cold since we held it in September, but we stayed warm with the truck load of fire wood we hauled up. Dinner was so awesome! The Ramey family made milk can dinner, which is a bunch of ham, sausage, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, onion and corn on the cob, all thrown in a giant milk can and steamed. Then they poured it all into a giant homemade troft and we served ourselves. The ward members brought sides and desserts.
After dinner we started the program. They youth were good sports and they helped me to a singing round skit with random props. Then we played a few rounds of "to tell the truth" this is where people would write down crazy things they had done. 3 people get up and all claim to have done whatever it is. the audience asks questions to try and figure out who really did it. Its a great way to get to know ward members and to have a good laugh! After this, we made smores and roasted starbursts until it was time to go swimming from 10-11pm. The pool water is so warm! The owners always allow our ward to have that hour for only us. The kids play, and the moms supervise while the men play their annual elders vs. high priest basketball game. The next morning we drank hot chocolate and ate an amazing breakfast (prepared by Nebeker family). The kids and Daisy had so much fun running around with the other kids, exploring and playing games!
